The great writer, Kahlil Gibran, once wrote on marriage, “Let there be spaces in your togetherness.”
That’s so apt today, when we see relationships disintegrating all around us. It is rare to find a clone of oneself, and one must allow breathing room for the other party to pursue his or her individuality.
Sure, the two must be a couple and plan a future together…but they must not so overwhelm each other that individualities become lost.
